The Devon County FA Benevolent Fund provides short-term financial assistance to individuals who have experienced injury or loss as a direct result of participating in Devon County FA affiliated football.
Please note: This is not a compensation scheme. The fund is designed to help alleviate short-term financial hardship and does not offer long-term support, retrospective funding, legal costs, or project funding.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for support, the following criteria must be met:
- The applicant must be a registered participant with a valid FA Number (FAN).
- The club of the injured participant or match official must have opted into the Benevolent Fund scheme and paid the membership fee during the affiliation or registration process for the season in which the injury occurred.
- The individual must have been incapacitated for a minimum of four weeks.
- The application form must be completed and submitted by the club, not the individual.

What Happens Next?
Once the application is reviewed:
- If approved, we will contact the club to confirm payment details.
- If additional information is needed, or the application is not successful, we will email the club to provide feedback or next steps.
Additional Support
- Insurance Claims: Please contact your club to initiate a claim through Sportsguard. Clubs should contact feedback@sportsguard.co.uk for support with personal accident insurance claims.
- League Support: Some leagues operate their own benevolent funds. We encourage you to check with your league to see if additional financial support is available.
