How can my club raise additional partnership funding to help improve our facilities?

There are a number of different ways in which you can look to raise additional partnership funding for a project. We have seen clubs successfully receive grants from their local councils. Each councillor has an amount to spend on projects within their locality on an annual basis, so it can also be worthwhile reaching out to your local councillor.

Other partnership funding opportunities can stem from:

  • Sport England
  • The National Lottery
  • Landfill charities (Biffa, Veolia and the FCC Community Action Fund are some examples)
  • South West Water
  • Devon Communities Together
  • Barclays Community Football Fund
  • The Garfield Weston Foundation
  • The Bernard Sunley Foundation
  • Supermarket grants (Tesco, Asda Foundation etc)

Some clubs also have had joy using grant finding systems such as GrantFinder or Grantway.

Another way to consider raising money is through sponsorship. Devon FA have a partnership with SNAP sponsorship, an online tool which signposts potential sponsors towards your club.

Lastly, fundraising is another way in which clubs have successfully raised funds. This may be through running events or by supporting your local community in some way. There are many ways in which clubs have raised funds before which has enabled them to access grant funding through the Football Foundation.
